At one month of age, the baby Kangaroo embryo, barely the size of a limer bean, crawls up mother’s body, enters the pouch and starts to feed. While in that refuge the baby Kangaroo, called a Joey , will bond, feed, and exponentially grow, for about 11 months. Mother Kangaroo , called a Flyer, will spend a lot of time preparing her Joey for life in the wild. When junior ventures out of the pouch, mother and offspring talk continually. Only when Joey returns to the pouch does peace return to Flyer.
